How can I apply for a visa to Norway?
Norway is part of the Schengen cooperation for visa purposes, this means that a visa for entry into any one of the countries in the Schengen area will normally also be valid for all the other Schengen countries within the period for which the visa is valid. Schengen visas are issued by and valid for the following member states:- Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
Do I need a Schengen Visa?
If you are from one of the following countries you will need to apply for a visa to visit Norway at the embassy in person: - Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belize, Burundi, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran , Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, N. Korea, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Travel Document holders (1951 Convention), Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Surinam, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen.
Where should I apply for a Schengen visa?
Visa should be applied from the member state of your main destination. A visitor to the Schengen countries is issued on condition that the applicant leaves the Schengen area before the visa expires.
What do I need to apply for a Schengen Visa?
Do I have to make an appointment?
No. The Consulate Section is open from Sunday to Thursday between 10.00-12.00. It is closed on Norwegian and Jordanian Holidays.
Can I send the application by post?
No. Each applicant has to apply in person.
Do I have to take photocopies of my documents and passport?
Yes. The Embassy does not take photocopies.
How long is the processing time for Schengen visas?
The processing time for Schengen visas is about two weeks or more depending on the travel document.
When and how can I pay for the visa?
The fee must be paid at the time of application in Jordanian Dinars by cash only.
If I apply for a visa and I do not get it, do I get a refund?
Once processed, if the visa is refused by the authorities, no refund is possible.
What kind of Travel Insurance is necessary?
A travel insurance covering the duration of the visa and the Schengen area. The insurance amount of minimum 30,000 Euro for each item covering sudden illness or accident (including travel back home) and include transportation back home in the event of your death. What’s the difference between a single-entry visa and multiple-entry visa?
A single entry visa allows you to enter a country once during the validity of the visa. When you leave the country the visa is no longer valid and you would be required to re-apply for another visa if you wish to visit that country again. A multiple-entry visa will allow you to enter/leave the country several times during the validity of the visa. In the case of a Schengen Visa you would be able to use a multiple-entry visa to visit other Schengen countries.

Can I get a visa to study in Norway?

What kind of invitation letter do I need to get a Schengen visa?
To get a Schengen visa, you need an original letter of invitation from your host, explaining all details of the trip, the purpose, the period, the expenses ---etc. The original invitation must be sent directly from the host to the applicant. A copy can be sent to the Embassy.
