Apply for or renew passport

Last updated: 05/02/2012 // The Norwegian Embassy in Amman will accept applications for issuing and renewal of passports. The application will be forwarded to the police in Oslo, who handle the information. The issued passport is then sent back to the embassy, where it is handed out to the applicant.


All passport applications must be lodged in person at the Embassy of Norway in Amman.

When you arrive at the Embassy (by prior appointment only), please bring the following documentation:

1. Completed passport application form. For information regarding name and personal ID number, you are kindly requested to read the paragraphs relating to change of name and personal number below.

2. One passport photo (without dark glasses and with your mouth closed). It must be of good quality, white / light background, not older than 3 months, minimum 36 x 47 mm. This also applies to minors.

3. Old passport.


Children under the age of 18 must in addition to the above supply the following:

4. Birth certificate showing the names of both parents.

5. Both parents' passports. This also applies if one of the parents is not Norwegian.

6. Parents' marriage certificate, if applicable. 

You are kindly requested to read carefully through page 2 of the Passport application. Please remember that both parents must sign the form – this also applies if one of the parents is not Norwegian.

Fees

- For persons over 16 years: Nok 450,- payable cash at current rate in local currency: 54 JOD

- For persons under 16 years: Nok 270,- payable cash at current rate in local currency, 32 JOD.

At the Embassy of Norway in Amman - Jordan.

 

Collection of Norwegian passport:

Your new passport may be collected at the Embassy (by prior appointment only). The new passport will normally be ready for collection 2-3 weeks after the application is lodged with the Embassy. Remember to bring your old passport when you come to collect the new one.
