Utenriksdepartementet oppfordrer til at det utvises aktsomhet ved reiser til og opphold i de i de nordlige provinsene (Erbil, Suleimania og Duhok). Alle reiser til eller opphold i øvrige deler av Irak frarådes.
Ambassaden anbefaler alle å benytte seg av UDs reiseregistrering på https://www.reiseregistrering.no/. Vi oppfordrer samtidig alle som registrerer seg til å oppgi kontaktinformasjon til nærmeste pårørende. I forbindelse med eskalering av konflikten i Syria, var kontaktinformasjon til pårørende essensiell i ambassadens arbeid med å komme i kontakt med norske borgere som oppholdt seg i Syria.
The Norwegian Foreign Ministry urges Norwegian citizens travelling to the northern provinces of Iraq (Erbil, Suleimania and Duhok) to exercise caution. Travels to the remaining parts of Iraq are not advisable.
