Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo

Last updated: 02/02/2011 // 23 February-6 March, 2011 Oslo will host the Nordic World Ski Championships. Both athletes and spectators can look forward to a memorable week in Holmenkollen, with the new ski jump in the centre of the events.

Holmenkollen

For the 2011 World Championships the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump has been rebuilt. The new ski jump has a modern design and complies with today’s international requirements, but the unique profile is continued. In March, 2010, the new arena was inaugurated, when Holmenkollen hosted a FIS Word Cup event.

Join the celebrations

Skiing has always had a special place in the hearts of Norwegian people. For more than a hundred years great skiing events in Holmenkollen have drawn thousands of people. Enthusiastic spectators have roared the skiers on from the arena or along the tracks in the forest.

The organisers expect at least 300,000 spectators for the championships. In addition to the skiing events there will be concerts and celebrations both in Holmenkollen and in the city centre.
