The meeting was also attended by the board of directors of the United Nations Foundation (UNF). Queen Rania is attending the UNF Board Meeting in her capacity as a member of the Board since 2006.
The UNF board previously met in Jordan in 2007. During the trip they toured the Kingdom and witnessed first-hand social development projects, including several educational initiatives and schools.
The UNF was founded in 1998 and links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilising the energy and expertise of businesses and NGOs to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, children’s health, peace and security, and poverty eradication, according to its website.
